Kualoa Ranch Wedding | Teal + Alexey

She's from Hawaii, he's from Russia, and they first met in Beijing! Our own words can't begin to describe how beautiful and unique their story is and how honored we are to tell it. We would like for you to hear it from them yourself, the union of two cultures coming together as one.

Teal & Alexey’s wedding day was filled with moments that made you shiver. Their vows, her beautiful hula dance, her ceremony entrance! That one gave me chills as I'm from Hawai'i, so it kind of hit home. She was announced with the sound of the "PU" (a shell), the sound of the Ocean, followed by an "Oli", a chant by the officiant, smack dab between a magnificent backdrop of the Ko'olau Mountains, and the Pacific Ocean. Her mom walked her down the aisle and I swear we felt like we were witnessing the entrance of a Royal Hawaiian Princess.

Hula dancing, two incredibly talented ukulele players, swing dancing classes, and a mix of Hawaiian and Russian food! So many memorable and unique aspects of the day that filled it with so much joy and laughter. The intro gives you a little peek into the surrounding area, like the well known Poi Factory and Kualoa beach, also their venue is located on the same property where they filmed Jurassic Park and other well known Hollywood movies!

It was truly an honor to capture their wedding day and tell their epic love story.

KUDOS FROM THE GROOM

It took my wife and me a few days to summon the courage to view our wedding video after we got it. Ours was a very unusual wedding - an amalgam of Russian and Hawaiian traditions. There were also a lot of details which, while each important to us, were quite incongruous. It was hard to imagine how someone could weave all of that together into a single video. We should not have been worried - Shy & Rafa somehow made everything fit together perfectly. The audio track was a wonderful mix of live performances from our wedding and an absolutely amazing song they found on their own. Imagery in the video told a clear, cohesive, and rich story. The pacing was a stirring combination of flowing movement and well-timed pauses. We loved it, as did all of our family and friends. My wife must have watched our wedding video at least a hundred times now - and the only reason I haven't is because I keep tearing up when I do. In short, we cannot recommend Amora Cinema's work more highly. Would also just add that Shy & Rafa are a pleasure to work with from day one all the way through to delivery of the final product.

THE VENUE / Kualoa Ranch Weddings

With the Kualoa Mountains on ones side and the ocean & China Man’s Hat on the other, Kualoa Ranch has probably one some of the most epic views in all of Hawaii. If you visit you might recoginze the scenery as it’s been featured in countless movies like Jurassic Park, Lost, Jumanji, and more. They have a few sites that you can rent, but the one you see in Teal & Alexey’s wedding is called Paliku Gardens. On top of weddings they offer horse-back riding tours, ATV off road tours, a Jungle Jeep Expedition, etc. Quite the popular spot so make sure to reach out as far in advance as you can!
